Public Hearing - Tower Permit

Public Hearing on Special Permit Application at Village Hall.

We have one permit application requesting permission for US Cellular to build a tower just north of the village of Garland, within the Garland ETJ.  See additional posting information for further details.

Special permits require open comment from the public as part of the review process. We are gathering public opinion on this matter as described above.  

Public Hearing Procedure:

  • Each person giving public comments will have a 3 minute time limit.  
  • Forms will be provided for each speaker to record their name/address
  • Forms will be given to the Planning Commission Secretary

During the Public Hearing:

  • No disruptions are allowed by the gallery while a person is being officially heard by the commissioners.
  • Disruptions will be given one warning.
  • A second disruption can result in the Chairman of the Planning Commission having that person(s) removed from the premises of the proceeding.
  • We will remain until all willing speakers have had a chance to express their view.

After the hearing is closed the commission will determine if a vote to make a recommendation to the Village Board will be made.
